Don Baez

Capsule collection for the marketing campaign of Montevideo Fashion Week

As a designer, working on this project has been one of the coolest moments of my career. Montevideo Fashion Week entrusted Don Baez, the uruguayan brand where I was head designer at the time, with a special AW20 Capsule Collection. Don Baez has been renowned for its unwavering commitment to sustainability since the 1980s.

Crafting this collection amidst the challenges of the 2020 pandemic was a truly rewarding experience. Inspired by resilience and a return to simplicity, each garment utilized undyed wool sourced from Uruguay, reflecting the brand’s dedication to sustainable materials. Drawing from themes of protective wear and post-apocalyptic aesthetics, the collection featured oversized silhouettes with military-inspired details. Clever phrases were artfully integrated into the designs, emphasizing the value of wool and the importance of mindful fashion choices.

In a time marked by uncertainty, this collection serves as a powerful statement of strength, style, and consciousness.
